‘Twas the Eve of Strategic Growth

‘Twas the last week of the year and all through my mind

Played moments and learnings through which I’d like to rewind.

My invoices are in, holiday cards sent weeks ago.

So it’s time to take stock of the year’s highs and lows.

It’s my first year as a founder, a solopreneur.

And I’m so very grateful to those who opened a client door.

From the Galapagos Islands to Paris and New York,

I’m thankful also to have had the flexibility of remote work.

Across all of my travels and throughout daily strife,

I’ve collected some thoughts on applied strategy in real life.

These musings are my anchor for action-oriented growth

When I’m consulting with clients to unlock their value and worth.

I’d be lying if I said starting my own company was easy…

Or if marketing myself didn’t make my stomach quite queasy.

But just like I write, there’s a #StrategyIRL lesson to learn

As I plan now to strategically scale with my own focus discerned.

Each client with which I’ve worked from startup to large company

Shares similar challenges in aligning decisions to strategy.

Since growth occurs best when culture, tech, and leadership align,

NBG Strategy Consulting brings frameworks to help clients refine.

Like I say to my clients and must now say to myself,

“Growth doesn’t happen just because a strategy’s on the shelf.”

Growth shows up when we push through the uncomfortable decisions,

And acknowledge where we can do better at adhering to a vision.

My vision is a world in which executives grow multifaceted

And companies understand short-term focus can be vapid.

So my mission is to help develop sustainable growth through implementation

Of actionable plans to achieve goals that gain stakeholder commendation.

How will I know if I’m succeeding in my plan?

I’ll see the results in measuring my consulting business’ demand.

Through fractional positions, projects, and contract retainers,

I hope to help clients make strategy simpler and saner.

Not only is my goal to expand my client rolodex,

But through working together, find a long-term home as an exec.

And along the way I seek to serve more on boards

Because I know where their governance can best brandish growth’s sword.

So here is my ask of all my LinkedIn connections:

Please help me achieve these 2024 resolutions.

If I can help you at all, please don’t hesitate to ask,

Whether for business needs or just as a friend’s help on a task.

Because one thing I’ve learned across my career for sure,

Is that business without relationships is an unfulfilling, dull chore.

But through and with each other, we grow and succeed,

Which is why I’m so grateful for YOU on this now Christmas Eve.

Happy Holidays from the Gawel Family 2023
